Update 10th April 2012

Hello,

Airborne again as I write this blog post. Currently 23000 feet above Europe heading to Luxemburg this time for 3 days of seminars before heading back Friday night.

Been a busy week or so since returning from Norway last week. I was judging at Tonsberg show. The course plans are already on my website www.leegibsontraining.com and click course plans.

Last week at home in Shropshire we had a belting of snow. This was actually predicted by the weather men but was unusual for the time of year. I loaded a couple of pictures up on to Facebook, for anyone who saw them will know how much we had. This meant training proved difficult, even getting to the indoor place was hard but I did a few lessons.

This weekend just gone was Easter weekend. Amongst eating a lot of Chocolate, and enjoying the lovely weather (cough!) I was running Scotty and Jack at TAG and Easter Celebration show.

Jack is 10 now and only does a few runs here and there, but he managed a 2nd in G7 jumping and also a 19th in the Olympia qualifier at Easter Celebration Saturday.

Scotty had a 2nd in G7 agility and that was about as good as it got. The rest of the runs were silly poles or handling mistakes by myself. Scott flies on the grass and I was a little off the pace I think.

Fast forward a few hours…

So now, I am finishing my blog after my first evening in Luxembourg. We have eaten at a super Sushi restaurant and I have also seen the super training venue. Tomorrow I will begin with the seminars. I am looking forward to it very much.

Thursday Exercise Plans - Tonsberg Norway

Hello, here are todays exercise and course plans. For my final session with the afternoon group I located a typical class one course from the internet and set it up so we could work through it together. You will see it is a course from Kees Stoel from a show in Warsaw, Poland. It made a good test for both my students and me as a trainer, using someone elses course and finding the best solutions for everyone.

This mornings course is also below:

Arrival in Norway and seminar plan 27th March

Hello,

Today I have arrived in Tonsberg, Norway where I literally stepped off the plane and drove straight to the training venue.

I feel like Birmingham airport is my second home these days and today was no exception, catching an early train and heading across to Birmingham to catch my flight at 11.30am.

This afternoon I had the first of 7 training sessions this week. Each one being 3 hours. Todays was 5.30pm – 8.30pm. The weather is lovely here in Tonsberg and training this evening was a pleasure in the warm weather.

Here is a blog with pictures from today:

Below is the training plans from the two exercises:

Tomorrow I have a session 8.30am – 11.30am and 5.30pm – 8.30pm.
Best wishes

Rep Ireland Training Plans

Hello,

I am currently in Dublin International Airport waiting for my flight home. Its been a fun weekend here in Ireland.

Saturday I was judging 6 classes. 4 agility and 2 jumping. The venue was outside on a caravan park abouyt one hour outside of Dublin.

The weather has been really nice this weekend. So much so that I managed to get burnt both yesterday judging and today doing the seminars.

The morning of todays seminars was a less experienced group with some new or just starting competing dogs. The afternoon had some more experienced handlers and dogs. Below are the exercise plans. I was very happy with how today went and had some great feedback.

Durning the weekend I was staying in a small B&B just a few minutes from the show. This was a comfortable little place but had no TV or the internet in the rooms. So catching up here at Dublin airport is quite nice.

Speak soon. Lee

Crufts Exercise/Course Plan + New LGT Webpage

Hello,

This week just gone seems to have been so busy. I am happy that this afternoon I have no lessons and have a free day tomorrow also, as I am so behind with emails, courses and I even need to sort out flights and travel!

This week (and last week) I have been using the Championship Final course plan from Crufts. It is NOT my course design, but based on the course design by Bill Glover as the 2012 Championship final judge.
(Click on the image to enlarge)

This Friday I fly to Dublin (I have never been before so a new place is exciting!) and on Saturday I will be judging, and conducting a training seminar on Sunday.

Sunday night I am flying back to Birmingham, only to fly out again Tuesday to Tonsberg Norway where I will spend the week doing training seminars and on the weekend judging at the Tonsberg competition.

I will soon launch a new page on my website featuring a back catalogue of all the exercise plans I place on my blog. This should provide a valuable database for accessing exercise patterns and drills and providing inspiration to anyone planning to take training sessions.

Regards

Wyre Training Day Exercise Pattern

Here is the pattern of the equipment from Saturdays training day at Wyre in Lanc's.

The numbered exercise is a sample of one of the days exercises. I have placed two pipe tunnels in the sequence because I moved the one tunnel around during the day for the various exercises that we did.

This week I have lessons before heading to Dublin in Rep Ireland this weekend for training, followed by a week in Norway next week.
