Norway Seminars Day 1 (Sat 13th/10/2012)

Hello

Above is the plan for today's exercises. I am currently in Hokksund, north of Drammen in Norway. I was teaching outside today and will again teach tomorrow.

The groups today did well and worked hard, I look forward to the second day tomorrow.

We spent a large proportion of today looking at contacts and the theory behind a successful and reliable 2 on 2 off contact. The exercises we talked about will help improve and maintain the contacts that are needed, as we say "to handle to course and not the equipment" !

I am here until Monday when I fly back. October is a busy month for me. I have already been in Poland and the Czech Republic, and have trips to Finland, Ireland and Poland coming up this month.

Will update again soon

Regards

Exercise plans from seminar in Jersey (22nd September)

Here are some of the weekends exercises from my training seminar from Jersey last weekend. The weekend was really fun and I was happy with the students and how the worked on some of the key issues and points.

Thanks to my hosts and organisers for a lovely couple of days on the island.

This week I have been somewhat hampered by the bad weather conditions, which has been making it hard to train outside. As I write this again the rain is hammering down. A week to be inside I think!

Today I took Scott for a fertility test to be sure that he can be a good stud dog. I was very happy with the excellent results and am glad that he is now proven after the test!

Back from Belgium

I am just back from my two days seminar in Belgium. I was hoping to put the course designs up on here but I currently have a problem with my hard drive and cant access any of my documents or programs, which is a bit of a nightmare!

However I have a video of myself running one of the dogs from the seminar on some pull through exercises. My French is not the best (!) but I managed okay.

Thanks to everyone on the seminar for their hard work.

Tonight I am doing a training night in Chesterfield, and tomorrow head to the KC Festival which has now moved venues to Rockingham Castle. Please contact Kennel Club for more information.

Update, EO video and Pics

Hello,

Been ages since I wrote on here, but the days just have been blurring one into the next at the moment, been so busy!

I was at the EO last weekend and was very happy with my runs. The video of my final round is here on the blog, I was very happy although disappointed with the 5r I got which was a silly mistake on my behalf!

Whilst I was in Sweden I had a breakdown with the van and this ment I had a long overnight journey to get back to Calais in time for my EuroTunnel. This journey was not pleasant and wasn’t enjoyable. In fact I would never like to do it again.

On Wednesday I judged at UKA and was judging the masters classes. Attached are the course plans.

On Friday I took my dogs to the beach, which they thoroughly enjoyed. It is about 2 hours drive to the beach but it was nice to spend some time with my dogs having been away for so long!

Now I am away again, having flown to Belgium for a 2 day seminar near Brussels. I will fly back on Tuesday night.

Then it will be time for the KC festival and DINAS, always a very fun couple of weeks.

Denmark 24th - 25th Exercise Plan

Here is my course plan from the last two days in Denmark. We focused on rear crosses and line's through the course.

Today (Wednesday) after the seminar I will drive east up into Sweden and join up with Team GB ready for the EO 2012. Exciting times. I am looking forward to the weekend.

Jutlandia Final Course Plans and Update

Hello,

I have been away for just over 2 weeks now, the last week I spent at Jutlandia Cup. I had some great results and Scotty actually was the top placed dog over the week for the final. The only problem was that I could not run in the final as I was the judge!

I had a 3rd, a 5th and a 7th. These results were the best, Greg was second with one point more, and Jo made it 5th. This showed what excellent results we could get from GB.

Greg, Jo and Myself ran a team on the Tuesday, and we came a close 2nd overall on some tough courses. Jo and Greg did an excellent job and it was great to be part of a very competitive team.

I have attached my course plans and also the finals course plan from the Jutlandia final, won by Remo Mueller in Large & Claudia Zenner in the Medium. I cant find the small winners name and don’t want to spell it wrong, but well done to her also. 3 great runs.

This week I am on a three day training camp. Today I did a lecture on “decision making and line selection” which lasted about 1 hour and with 30mins afterwards outside doing a practical assessment on a built course.

Everything is good so far, even the weather has picked up and the sun is hot here.

Look forward to seeing my GB Team mates on Wednesday and Thursday in Sweden. Today I found out my EO running orders. 1st in Agility, and 213th in Jumping. Start as I wish to go on then, and early at 7.50am!

Speak soon.
