Off to Norway

Today I am flying to Norway (Tonsberg) for my ten days training in Norway. I have packed as much as I can and am looking forward to it!

Well done to Alice Moodie and to Georgina Baker for their fantastic runs in the YKC Agility dog of the year yesterday at Crufts. I had a good day watching and also working on the Purina Pro Plan stand.

Good luck at Crufts

Good luck at Crufts to Alice Moodie and Aljeana Baddley, who are both competing there this weekend. I will be thinking of you!

A big well done to Janet and Ceri Jones and Sue Taylor, for there fantasic results last weekend at Agility Addicts. Well done I was very proud.

Friday I fly to Norway for 10 days, the first half in Tonsberg and the second half in Bergen. I am looking forward to the trip a lot, although I am still slighly depressed about Scotts broken toe, he is very upset being shut in a cage doing nothing, but it is for the best.

Broken Toe...

Here is a little update of what I have been up to lately, although there is not a lot of good news this week.

Today I returned from the vet with Scott in a bandage, he went lame on Sunday, and after an x-ray and a consultation today, he has a broken toe. I am gutted as have been training well recently, and this now means 4 or 5 weeks off. However, it is done now and I am going to hope for a quick recovery and back to training soon. I think I maybe cursed with some of the luck I have had in the last few months!

I also have no joy on getting my mobile phone back, and this evening we lost in our football match, so all in all an expensive and depressing day!! Sunday was a better day, took some of my dogs to the beach in Wales, it was lovely weather for the seaside!


This Thursday I am at Crufts, and will be on the Purina stand (Hall 3) over lunch time, if you want to come and say hello.

On Friday I fly to Norway for 10 days training, I am looking forward to heading there again, I always have fun when I am there.

LGT News

Hello,
Well again I seem to be kicking my heals with this weather, not been able to train since last Thursday now, when will this winter end.

Some good news now is that I have a new jumping area complete and ready to use. In fact I plan to use it for today’s lesson as the main course is still soaked. The new area is enclosed with wooden fencing and has jumps and a tunnel, which will enable me to practice a lot of jumping sequences and handling skills within my lessons.

I was going to get a picture but it is raining now, so maybe il do it another time.
I decided not to go to Newton Heath on Saturday mainly due to the fact I had Everton v Man U tickets and would have only been able to do one run. Was worth it though... 3-1

I am now looking forward to April and the shows starting in some nicer weather. I am especially looking forward to the European open trials in late April, as well as my trips to Norway (March) for training and the Czech Republic (April) for judging.

Some of you will know I had a nice new phone recently. Well my nice new phone is currently at the Nokia Repair shop with what looks like a cracked under-screen. I was very annoyed as it is only couple of weeks old and I had not done anything to break it, however I am hopeful it will be sorted soon. For now I have been using an old pink phone (which got me a lot of abuse on a facebook thread!).
Over the weekend some people sent me messages, I was unable to read these, the screen was ruined. If I have not replied, don’t be offended. I can now receive them, messages, I have set up a brand new voicemail too, and call catcher (as I have no signal I think I can now see if I miss calls when at home!) so if anyone needs to get in touch about training or anything else, it should be okay now.

‘Stretton All Stars’ beat the ‘Old Boys’ 11 – 7 on Monday night to record their second league win in as many games. I have found my shooting boots too, not bragging but I did play well. We only had 5 players and had two games, that is basically 80mins. Now that is a work out and a half! Last night we all watched the Champions league game.. two pizza's and a doughnut not quite an athletes diet is it.

Well done to Ceri Jones who has been gaining some super places at Agility Addicts and last weeks Newton Heath show. Also to Sue Taylor who has just started training with me and has had a great few runs at Agility Addicts show recently also.

That is just about it from me. Might just walk up the hill to check my texts now... some things never change I guess!

Wallingford Tday plan and update

Hello,

Just an update on what I have been doing over the last week or so. I have been very busy training recently, I was at Hereford on Tuesday evening and Wallingford on Saturday. Both were very successful days/evenings, and the feedback I got from both was really good.

At Wallingford I did sessions for beginner dogs, puppies and more experienced dogs, so we had a great blend and covered quite a few handling techniques.

Above is the plan from the last session, together with one of the 'shaping' exercises we did. This proved more difficult than it first looked!

At Hereford I decided to try and get as many handlers working together at the same time, on jumpm grids and bounce jumps. Although I was slightly nervous that the whole thing might descend into chaos, it did not. The dogs focused very well!

I am going to Newton Heath this Saturday and then Everton v Man United, which I am excited about!

8th February

Hey,

Not too much to report just at the moment, it is still very cold (and going to get colder by all accounts) and I have been doing agility lessons every day since last Wednesday now, trying to catch up on all the ones I have missed!

This Saturday I am due to do a training seminar at Wallingford Club, which I am looking forward too.

I am also getting to grips with my new phone. Now its not often I am at the top of the technology pyramid, but right now I must be somewhere close. I can even update my blog on my phone, as well as emails, Skype, internet and media. It should make it a bit easier for me also with the bad internet I have at home, with my emails now just a 15min walk up the hill away!

The football team I play for won this evening (I scored 5 but the team were brilliant) and I have a ticket for Everton v Manchester United in a weeks (Saturday) time. It is the same day as Newton Heath, so maybe I can squeeze a couple of classes in before I head to the match!
