Shrewsbury Training Day Sunday 11th December - Exercise Plans

Just an update. I have some good pictures from the LGT Xmas dinner (taken from Saturday night) to upload a bit later. Today I have been working alongside Anthony Clarke doing a joint training seminar in Shrewsbury.

The Morning groups were grades 3. The Afternoon groups were grades 5-7. We had a nice day but the weather got worse and worse as it went on. I had to move on to some small static exercises with the weaves as the ground became very slippy, hence only one plan from the afternoon.

Here are the training plans and exercises from my training session at Shrewsbury today.

Enjoy these course/exercise plans.

NSARDA Charity Auction with FANTASTIC lots to bid on: Please read & share this post!

A great event for a great cause:

Hello everyone, thanks for taking the time to read this.

This is a post to make everyone aware of a fantastic charity action taking place this Friday (December 9th – 7.30pm) at Longden village hall, south of Shrewsbury. (SY58EX)

It is being held in aid of NSARDA which is the National Search and Rescue Dog Association, a super cause which really needs support from everywhere, as none of us quite know, one day we might just thank our lucky stars that a dog finds us or a relative! An auction has been arranged to raise some much needed funds in these tough times. With Christmas just around the corner, you may just find yourself a gem!

So here it is basically:

You can turn up and bid just like a real auction (from 7.30pm), or you can submit a “sealed bid” which is a maximum bid amount on a particular item. This allows participation from anywhere and as you will see, some of the items available for bidding are amazing.

All items start with no reserve and you could just net yourself a bargain or one of the super experiences!

Here is a selection of super lots available:

·         Pet portrait by local artist Sue Jones (retails for min £230!)

·         2 rounds of Golf at Arscott Golf Club

·         3 x Professional photo sitting and photo’s (worth £130 each)

·         2 Crufts tickets for 2012

·       Bungee Jump Experience - (who would want to do this? Seriously! I believe this can be exchanged for other experiences)

·         Half Hour Water Skiing lesson at Bomere pool

·        Couples photo shoot experience which included a make over and 3 photo’s – (just rub it in eh... rub it in! All of us single people cannot bid because we have no one to take! Well I dont need make over anyway... okay back to the list, just because this one isnt for me. I know, I know!)

·         Half hour light aircraft flight for up to 3 people – (This would be novel for me to bid on eh?! Cant remember the last time I flew in a plane!)

·         2 Tickets to Shrewsbury Flower show

·         Ironbridge Gorge pass for 2 and entry to all museums

·         Toy Story 200 piece art set (Ah a themed art set with a modern day blockbuster. This was obviously a lot from the 1995 aution which never sold!)

(Im not being too cheeky here am I?!)

·         2 x Aladdin tickets at the Theatre Severn (fair play if you havent been, the Theatre Severn is amazing. Well worth going, and ive been to a few theatres in my time!)

·         2 x 4 tickets for Shrewsbury Ten Pin Bowling

·         5 x pair of Welti Fitness and leisure guest day tickets

·        Suede lined full length ladies coat – (don’t ask I am simply writing what information I have been given and no I won’t be bidding on this item not even for the “weekend outfit”)

·         Trentham Gardens family day ticket (2 adults and 3 kids)

And finally... two belting items that will set the pulses racing!

·         Kampa Double burner and grill camping stove – a must for all stove fans

·        Stainless Steel Double Sandwich Toaster – The revolution of sandwich making is finally upon us. No kitchen is complete without one. Not just one sandwich, we are talking double the fun with this not to be missed Double sandwich toaster!

Okay I know I have had a bit of a laugh with one or two lots, but there are actually some cracking lots available and the bidding starts from a £1 so you really could grab yourself a absolute bargain, and most importantly we are all helping a fantastic cause.

The most important thing however is all the money raised is going to a great cause in the NSARDA.

Please share this blog post as we want to get as many people as possible to view the lots and items available.

I can say now I will bid £2 for every item to kick start the auction... well nearly every item, I cannot of course bid for the photo shoot can I and I dont really want a ladies coat, but il bid on the rest!

Shrewsbury Training Day Dec 3rd. C/plan & video link

Hello,
This week has been a fun week. It has felt decidedly colder in the air though and I was wrapped up warm for my lessons. I also seem to have spent every evening out after work too. So now on Saturday evening I’m am thinking a nice cup of tea and an evening in watching MOTD will be fun!
Today (Sat) i was training up at Shrewsbury club doing a morning seminar about “Turn Selection & Efficiency”.
Attached is the course plan for reference for those on the course, as well as Scotts video I referred too during the seminar. Watch the turn on the 3rd last jump.

And below is the link to the video I refered to:
I have lessons all day Sunday, so am hoping for a decent days weather!
My Olympia shirt arrived today also. It is not long now and I am looking forward to going back to Olympia, and Scott following in the steps of Rory, Jack and Che having all qualified for the finals previously.
Scott may not have his mind on the job this week though, he was put to Stud and spent a week in Leicester with Maria Johnston, where he was mated to Pilot, Maria’s lovely little bitch. I am hoping that there will be puppies next year, but as always you never know do you! It went well and there could be none. Accidental mating’s happen and there are 10 puppies. We will have to wait and see now!

EO Video - Taddymoor Jack

Hello,

The last week or so I have been looking back over the season and decided to plug in my video camera to the computer, and was enjoying looking back at some of our really good runs from what was a very successful season.

So now I have been editing them together and putting them onto YouTube. Now for those who don’t know our internet is via satellite, and the last week I have been trying to upload the first video, I reduced the size many times, and then last night, bang. Straight on and uploaded! No reason for being any better.. it must just be the internet gods playing.

The first video however is from Austria, at the European Open. Of my four runs from the last weekend of July. Jack did his absolute best and I was proud to be a part of team GB.

Now I do look back at my videos, I must have watched it 50 times, and watching it online (once it had actually loaded up) I noticed that there was a somewhat minor inconstancy with my spelling of Austria, apparently I also competed in Austia during the summer also!

Now I tend to hate spelling mistakes. I admit I am truly not a good speller, in fact once I have had to ask how to spell words from someone who’s first language isn’t even English! But I just don’t like spelling errors.

However having finally got this dam video loaded up, it is staying up. Austia or Austria, I’m sure we all get the rough geographical location of where I was competing!

So this hopefully will be the first of a few videos from the summer. I have many of Taddymoor Scotts excellent runs and wins from the summer at KC, and DINAS. It was nice watching them back, partly because it reminded me that we do have nice weather here, and not just rain and wind!

Enjoy and please subscribe to my YouTube account.

Training review: Marc Saunders & Lee Gibson Training Day Sunday 27th November

This weekend has been a really enjoyable one down in the south of England working with Marc Saunders on another of our joint seminars held in Horsham.

On the Friday night we indulged in a bit of social out and about in Crawely town, and on Saturday Marc and I went across London to the Emirates stadium to watch Arsenal v Fulham, Marc is a Fulham fan and I am an Everton fan, but for Saturday I was enjoying watching Fulham gain a valuable point in their bid to avoid relegation!

For the training day Sunday the theme of the day revolved around the type of deceleration and information needed to give your dog maximum efficiency through turns and over the distance between obstacles.

The morning started with an immense rain shower that looked to somewhat dampen everyone’s spirits setting up. I suggest Marc now buys some suitable footwear for training after having wet feet for the day! I was okay in my big ski Jacket and waterproof socks though!

The morning & afternoon groups all worked hard on the exercises we had planned and worked through. We had a summary at the end of each session and the feedback was extremely positive.

Well done to everyone who worked really hard during the day. It was most enjoyable to teach.

My exercises are below, morning and afternoon sessions.

Superseminar review Sunday 20th November

Superseminar review Sunday 20th November

Hello,

So for this post no more tales of the supermarket. I haven’t had chance to carry out any new household tasks either, so for now it is all about the agility!

Sunday was the seminar in Worcester. Firstly I would like to say thank you to Alison Naylor and Helen brown for helping me organise the day.

We started at 9.30am with the g3-5 groups split in to two groups of 5, one working with me and the other on free practice on a exercise I had set up. The groups then swapped over.

I then changed the exercise and repeated the process so that everyone on the day got to work 4 exercises, but with specific themes and points being made throughout.

The format for the grades 5-7 session was the same, although the exercises were slightly more advanced for the higher grades.

The themes of the day were

·         Line selection

·         Drive and send away

·         Discrimination

To enable practice specifically on these things I designed sequences that were technically difficult but worked the correct way, enabled a good line and maximum drive, acceleration and deceleration.

Thank you for the great feed back I recieved afterwards. Am always happy that my students go away with hard work done but also a desire to practice whats been learnt, that is a vital part for me.

Course plans were handed out at the end of each of the sessions (morning & afternoon).

Below is a plan of 2 exercises out of the 8 practiced throughout the day.

This week is lessons, followed by a weekend down south with Marc Saunders as we take on our second training day in Horsham, following the success of the first one back in October.
